Chicken Chaat
1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
2-3 cloves of garlic, peeled and coarsely chopped
2 tbsp cooking oil (I use olive or canola)
1 ½ tsp ground coriander
¼ tsp ground turmeric
¼ - ½ tsp chili powder
1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves (cilantro leaves)
1. Wash the chicken and dry on paper towels. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
2. Add the salt to the garlic and crush to a smooth pulp (use a mortar and pestle if you have one).
3. Heat the oil in a frying pan, preferably non-stick or cast iron, over medium heat.
4. Add the garlic and cook until lightly browned.
5. Add the chicken and sauté 6-7 minutes, stirring constantly.
6. Add the ground coriander, turmeric and chili powder. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and coriander leaves. Enjoy!
